Glass-top Stove

I used to dream of the day I could have a glass-top stove. They looked so pretty and clean! Then I moved into a house with a stove that was about 1 year old. There was some minor damage already apparent on the stove. The owner had left a tiny bottle of cleaner with strict instructions to use this cleaner only. I dutifully used the cleaner, but it did not improve the look of the stove.

The next house, our current home, had a brand new glass-top stove. There was no cleaner included, so I started looking around for the same cleaner I had used before, only to discover it was $4 - $7 for a 12 oz. bottle of cleaner. Not my kind of price.

I did a little research and discovered that Soft Scrub has about the same ingredients. For about $2.75 I can get a 26 oz. bottle of cleaner that will do the same thing. I've been using the Soft Scrub for over a year now on the glass-top stove and it looks even better than our previous stove which we used the expensive cleaner on.

What's the savings?
Small expensive cleaner - $4 - $7 per 12 oz. = 33¢ - 58¢ per oz.
Soft Scrub cleaner - $2.75 per 26 oz. = 10¢ per oz.

Coupons! (Gotta love 'em)
The Soft Scrub brand of cleaner typically has coupons out almost all year round. Check out their Special Deals website frequently for the most current coupon. Right now the basic Soft Scrub has a 50¢ coupon. If taken to a store that doubles coupons you could get Soft Scrub for around $ 1.75 making your savings even more.

Soft Scrub Cleaner - $ 2.75 - 50¢ coupon doubled ($1.00 off) = $ 1.75 per 26 oz. = 7¢ per oz.

Combine the coupon with a bi-yearly cleaning supply sale (typically in the Spring and Fall) and you might get your Soft Scrub for 50¢!
